Sodoma Law Employee Benefits
Sodoma Law maintains a group health insurance plan. For this group policy, the firm pays fifty percent (50%) of the medical insurance premium.
Life Insurance
The firm pays one hundred percent (100%) of two (2) life insurance policies.
Short Term Disability
The firm pays one hundred percent (100%) of a short-term disability policy.
Long Term Disability
The firm pays one hundred percent (100%) of a long-term disability policy.
Dental Insurance
The firm maintains a group dental plan. The employee is responsible for the premium.
Vision Insurance
The firm maintains a group vision plan. The employee is responsible for the premium.
Retirement
The firm sponsors a 401(k) plan. Employees are eligible to make contributions, following six (6) months of employment, with several investment selections. With a two (2) year vesting schedule, the firm matches 3% of the employees contributions.
FSA
Each employee may contribute a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) after 90 days of employment.
PTO
In addition to at least nine (9) state and federal holidays identified each calendar year, full-time employees earn fifteen (15) days of paid time off for the first three (3) years of employment with a percentage of carryover year to year. After three (3) years of employment, employees are eligible for up to 17 days of paid time off. After five (5) years of employment, employees are eligible for up to 20 days of paid time off.
End of Year Bonuses
Since the firm’s inception, the firm has given end of year bonuses to its staff.
Quarterly Events
The firm hosts quarterly events for individuals and guests. The events have included scavenger hunts, white water rafting center parties, local brewery tours, and boat charters.
Other Miscellaneous Benefits
Sodoma Law celebrates employees’ birthdays, creates “porch” events, administrative professional’s day and bosses’ day. We schedule monthly or quarterly (depending on schedule) Lunch N’ Learns for all staff to support professional development which includes a paid lunch. For monthly staff meetings, employees have an opportunity to “rate” meetings on a scale of 1-10 to ensure that everyone is engaged and the meetings are productive and effective. The firm ratings average 9. The firm has been voted Charlotte’s Best Places to Work for four (4) years (every year the firm was nominated and participated in the event). The firm has negotiated other miscellaneous benefits that continue to evolve as the firm grows and changes.
