Main St. Monroe, North Carolina. We also have additional offices in Charlotte, North Carolina, Rock Hill, South Carolina; Monroe, North Carolina; and in Cornelius, North Carolina.

The Legal Assistant will support attorneys and staff by ensuring the litigation calendar is managed, maintains proper workflow and back up for each legal team, and assists in day-to-day operations of the law firm. This position requires an intelligent, flexible, proactive, organized and independent person who will engage in administrative duties and take the bull by the horns.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepares and sends enclosure memos to clients
  • Saves client documents and pleadings to file
  • Creates new client files
  • Creates and updates pleadings notebooks
  • Assists with trial preparation
  • Prepares and files Certificates of Service to be filed with the Court
  • Calendar reminders
  • Client filing
  • Courthouse runs
  • Mail distribution
  • Answer phones as back-up to the receptionist

Outstanding candidates will also have:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience plus
  • Possess excellent writing, communication, organization and computer skills
  • Be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Multi-task: kick ass efficiently and prioritize with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Be creative
  • Know their “why” and understand ours
