We are seeking a Practice Manager who can oversee and maintain the smooth, efficient operation of our main office in Charlotte, NC. This role requires a practicing attorney with litigation experience who will also be responsible for meeting a 25-hour per week billable requirement. In addition to handling their own caseload, the Practice Manager reports directly to the firm’s Managing Principal and serves as the administrative manager, mentoring and supervising attorneys and other legal timekeepers.

This person is a team player who is committed to honesty, integrity, and supporting the efficient and smooth day-to-day operations of the firm.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and supervise the legal team, including attorneys and legal staff, to ensure optimal performance, collaboration, and professional development.
- Maintain a personal caseload and meet a 25-hour weekly billable requirement while balancing administrative leadership duties.
- Develop and implement firm-wide policies, procedures, and strategic goals to enhance productivity, client satisfaction, and team performance.
- Oversee case management processes, including attorney workload distribution, billable hour monitoring, and client retention strategies.
- Evaluate and coach attorneys using performance metrics, data trends, and client feedback to ensure high-quality legal service and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and HR on hiring, onboarding, training, and performance reviews of legal team members.
- Manage internal communications, facilitate attorney meetings, and coordinate cross-department collaboration to support firm operations.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards, including Bar regulations and confidentiality protocols.
- Support business development efforts by identifying practice growth opportunities and participating in marketing initiatives.
- Oversee facility-related standards and operational procedures, ensuring the office environment aligns with professional and confidentiality expectations.
Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the North Carolina Bar.
- 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in a family law or similar practice area.
- Proven practice management experience managing attorneys and legal staff in a law firm or legal department setting.
- Ability to meet a 25-hour weekly billable requirement while fulfilling administrative responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills, including strategic planning and policy implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and evaluate legal professionals using performance metrics and data.
- Understanding of client care, retention trends, complaint handling, and A/R management.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration, team building, and staff engagement.
